It is with profound grief and sorrow that we announce the untimely demise of Dr. Jayanta Sarkar, Assistant Professor, School of Mathematics, IISER Thiruvananthapuram.

He passed away in a tragic accident on campus in the early hours of September 13, 2026.

The Institute community is deeply saddened by this tragic loss. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Sarkar's family, friends, colleagues, and students during this extremely difficult time. We pray that they find the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.
