Welcome to the third session of CMIT’s talk series! We'll embark on an exciting journey through the fascinating worlds of Number Theory, Analysis, and Ancient Indian Mathematics. As we celebrate our foundation's growth, we're reminded that learning is a lifelong adventure.
Title: Vignettes in Number Theory, Analysis and Ancient Indian Mathematics
Speaker: Dr. Shailesh Shirali
Date and Time: 28th November 2024|4 pm
Venue: To be announced
Abstract: We plan to dwell on the following 4 topics.
The first and fourth topics demonstrate unusual iterations that cast light on some number theory problems. The third topic is about a great mystery in ancient Indian mathematics: how mathematicians of the time stumbled onto a very remarkable approximation. The question remains open as of this time.
