Title: Large but finite $N$

Abstract: Biological systems can be defined at different space and time scales. From microscopic to mesoscopic to macroscopic descriptions. For a system defined at the microscopic level, the macroscopic dynamics is easy to obtain. The interest of my work lies at the mesoscopic scale, where you can't ignore the intrinsic randomness arising from the large but finite size of the system. The dynamics at the mesoscopic scale is captured by a stochastic differential equation (SDE). We'll go through some methods of obtaining a SDE from a microscopic description and biological systems which show weird dynamics at the mesoscopic scale.

Title: Analysis of dynamical systems in Cosmology
Date and Time: 27th August 2024| 9:30 pm Venue: PSB 1207

Abstract: In this talk, we will explore the fascinating world of dynamical system analysis through the lens of a research paper I wrote during my internship project on cosmology. We will delve into the mathematical techniques used to solve complex differential equations and examine the stability and evolution of systems over time. This interdisciplinary approach integrates numerical simulations, Bayesian inference, and theoretical physics, making it relevant for a wide range of fields.
